Question: if an employee works over the 40 hour work week, but at different jobs/payrates, are they entitled to overtime pay?
30 hours cashier ($8) + 10 hours host ($9) + 5 hours server ($3)
The Federal Dept of Labor requires overtime premium pay when exceeding 40 hours/workweek.
I would guess that the 50% premium pay rate would be based on what task the employee was doing during the overtime hours.
Thank you that was my thought as well. I just wanted to see if there was anyone that had a different input.
I have tried to reach the DOL for more specific details to no avail. They have yet to respond to my multiple requests. Go figure....
