General Ledger Bookkeeper

Alert, detail oriented and highly organized person sought for on-site bookkeeper position in lower Manhattan. Candidates should have knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel and computerized accounting, as well as manual bookkeeping. Duties include, but not limited to, preparing bank deposits and transfers, maintaining daily cash account balances, processing invoices, preparing monthly bank reconciliations, recording day to day financial transactions, maintaining and updating general ledger and trial balances, processing of tax payments using the IRS Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS), assisting accountants on monthly and annual closings, as well as tax returns and performance of other duties. Experience in accounting for investment transactions, a plus.
