We’re looking for an experienced, trustworthy and reliable Bookkeeper with at least 2 years’ experience to assist in managing day-to-day accounting and financial tasks. This is a 30 – 40 hours a week job. This position requires a candidate who is driven, takes initiative, wants to grow within an organization and most of all willing to learn.
Job Duties
• Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software, QuickBooks Online and regularly reconciling accounts.
• Distribute customer invoices and ensure that receivables are collected in a timely manner
• Process company payroll
• Track, monitor and manage invoices
• Define bookkeeping policies and procedures
• Maintain historical records by filing documents
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
• Record financial transactions: Enter purchases, receipts, sales, and payments
• Prepare reports: Generate balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
• Reconcile bank statements: Compare bank statements to transactions to ensure accuracy
• Manage accounts: Maintain accounts payable and receivable
• Process payroll: Assist with payroll processing and tax reporting
• Assist with creating budgets, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of associate degree in business administration, accounting, or relevant field
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles
• Familiarity with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools.
• A general understanding of the main accounting principles, such as accruals and revenue.
• Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.
• Confidentiality and thoroughness required
• Experience with QuickBooks online accounting software and data entry
• Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator.
